Sushi Ikeikemaru

An Instagram friend recommended Sushi Ikeikemaru to me and I decided to give it a try!

I went there around 8pm in the evening and there was no queue. However, it took quite a while for the waiter to get me seated. I ordered one of their chief recommended dishes, Salmon Don. I was attracted by the good old salmon.

Food's nice! The salmon is fresh and sliced at the correct thickness. The only thing I do not like about this is the rice. I felt its a little to chunky. I particularly like their salad. The dressing is prefect! Not too bland and I love the fragrance of the sesame oil.

That's all folks. Enjoy!

A friend recommended Tori King to me and I do absolutely love their ramen!

I notice that there's always a long queue outside this Japanese at Tanjong Pagar. It turns out that this store is Tonkotsu King, the sister store of Tori King. The difference is Tonkotsu King serves only pork and Tori King serves only chicken.

We were early that day and there isn't a queue (probably because people are having hang over after partying hard welcoming 2016). We gave our orders and got served reasonably fast. We grinded our sesame seeds and add it to our ramen.

The ramen's AMAZING! The soup is lightly salted, perfectly boiled and rich in flavour. The chicken is super tender! It just peels off when you grab it with your chopsticks. Best part of all, you can have their free flow of bean sprouts. They're delicious and addictive. I had 3 large servings of it!

Lastly, I tried their Green tea cola. Hmmm.. How should I describe this? I do not taste the green tea much. Just like some light syrup with the end taste of cola? Do try it folks! I will try their Ginger Ale next time round :)
