「我的少女時代」

Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 10:59      No comments

Everyone is talking about the movie, 'Our Times'「我的少女時代」and I've watched it!

Sorry folks, just realized I did not update my blog for so long...

"Perhaps at that time I was too busy smiling, crying and chasing those shooting stars in the sky. Naturally, people forgets the person who stood silently there for you even in stormy situations."

The above italic text is a translation of part of the theme song for 'Our Times'. The embedded music video for the song is located below in the blog. If you have yet to watch the movie, I would recommend you not to watch the music video.

..也許當時忙著微笑和哭泣
忙著追逐天空中的流星
人理所當然的忘記
是誰風裏雨裏一直默默守護在原地..

I feel that the plot for 'Our Times' is predictable. However, the love story is so sweet and pure featuring unconditional love for each other. Towards the end of the movie, those doleful scenes kick in leaving me heavy-hearted. As always, a happy ending which brings things back with a smile :)

Do catch the movie folks! Definitely rewarding.
So what's your high school love story folks?

It's just a movie. Guess in reality, such cases rarely exist. I guess, I'm too busy 'chasing the stars' and neglected you folks. And neglected myself.

Zero Dark Thirty

Friday, March 1, 2013 at 00:51      No comments

I watched Zero Dark Thirty today. This movie is about the capture of Osama Bin Laden, the most wanted terrorist - how the operation went from getting intel from the captured terrorist members, to the bombings the Taliban did for revenge and to Osama being killed in his "fortress". It's kind of interesting watching and knowing briefly how Bin Laden was killed.

Ah Boys to Men II

Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 13:23      No comments

Caught Ah Boys to Men 2 last weekend. I've gone through the exact trainings as a recruit, then promoted to a specialist and took care of my recruit. This brings back much memories of my NS days.

I do encourage Singaporeans to watch this movie. It tells us much of what Singaporean guys went through - Be it the training, the emotional fear of deadly weapons and also the fear of losing your girlfriend. Apart from this, not forgetting what our protective parents will also go through and sacrifice.

Enjoy folks! ORD lor!

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 13:04      No comments

I've just watched The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. It's a brilliant show full of fantasies - Elves, Dwarfs, Dragons, Orcs and Wizards. It's Magical and breathtaking.

I like the story of Thorin and the dwarfs making their journey back to the Lonely Mountain, their once called home that was taken by Smaug, the ferocious dragon.

During the journey, Thorin had to face his sworn enemy, Azog, the King of Orcs who killed his father.

Bilbo Baggins, the hobbit, who has a home, loves being clean and know nuts about sword fighting, accompanied them on an adventure that changed his life.

He is an interesting and comical character. He has his ways to help the group, using his wits more than his strength.

Southland

Thursday, November 22, 2012 at 21:49      No comments

Recently, I was watching Southland. This is a TV series reveals the life of Los Angeles Police Department. It shows realistically the dangers daily patrol police faces. I learnt a lot watching this series - How they gave chase and pin down a suspect, how to go about resolving a heated quarrel, the positive perspective they look at when they stumbled upon a problem, etc.

I love the way they portrait policeman as Humans. They, as policemen should enforce the law and maintain integrity. However, they have their own set of personal problems and this slowly consumes them and drop them deep into the hole.

Taken 2

I was kind of disappointed with Taken 2.
I felt that Taken was way better than Taken 2.
It seems to short of something but I couldn't figure what.

The Newsroom

Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 00:22      No comments
I just came across this TV series, The Newsroom and watched the 1st episode.
It attracted me even though I can't really understand the whole picture.
My English sucks! Furthermore, there are lots of American-related issues that requires that aspect of knowledge to understand it.

Anyway, it's nice to catch a glimpse of how the newsroom operates and how they develop the news and report it. The important fact of reporting the correct things and not what the audiences wants to hear.

Ted

Monday, September 10, 2012 at 23:16      No comments

Don't be fooled by this cute innocent teddy bear.
He smokes pots, swears and is filthy minded.
Yes, he's Ted!
The teddy bear that came to life by a child's wish.

The movie is hilarious. I had quite a good laugh after a tiring and bad Saturday morning =)
For those who are strongly against dirty jokes, I would recommend you NOT watching this show.

Chantel DuBois

Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 01:24      No comments

The villainous head of animal control - Captain Chantel DuBois is my favourite character in Madagascar 3. Nothing will stop her from hunting the animals down and adding them to her personal collection.DuBois has a set of extraordinary tracking skills and together with her perseverance makes her the best animal control officer in Monte Carlo.

Her crooked mind and disgusting actions makes her stand out in the movie and that's what I like about DuBois which her my favourtie character in Madagascar 3.

Dubois was played by Frances McDormand. Below are some information about her.

Frances Louise McDormand

Madagascar 3

I've just watched Madagascar 3 - Europe's Most Wanted yesterday. It was Crazy Creative, Ridiculous Astonishing and definitely Entertaining!

However, I felt that there wasn't much story to it and the humour was less compared to the previous series.

I like the rich colours of the characters fitting into the circus theme. The lightings and animation of the circus acts blew my mind away.

The Vampire Diaries Season 3

Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 15:30      No comments

Finally, I've finished watching The Vampire Diaries Season 3
The story is getting more complicated and a little messy.
The Salvatore brothers are still as dashing, cool and arrogant.
Elena Gilbert is still so beautiful!

What if Vampires, Werewolfs, Witches and Ghost do exists?
