A Walk Around the Neighborhood

Sunday, July 19, 2015 at 20:46      No comments

National day is around the corner! Decorations are hurled up, flags and banners lined the streets. This year, Singapore reaches 50.

It's been sometime since I've written on my blog. I've been busy with my work during the weekdays till late and weekends, outings with friends and family. Finally, I have some me-time and I brought 'Ocean' around my neighborhood.

This year, Singapore celebrates her 50th birthday. Thus, we are given an extra day of holiday and I noticed more decorations, discounts and events in conjunction to that.

The photo above is taken under my block. The usual walkway is decorated with colourful nation-related flags and our national flag. The photo below shows Singapore flags hung at each level of the flat. Something that bothers me most is the hanging of clothes, pillows etc over the Singapore Flag.

Here are more banners and national flags that is used to beautify our flats.

I happened to stroll into Nanyang Community Center and saw the "SG50" plant! On this plant, hangs the wishes of our fellow citizens for Singapore! I'm so glad this tree is filled up!

Here's one of the many wishes. This is how we Singaporeans, show our love for our country!

Last but not least, this is my road home after an evening of shooting!

Welcome 2015

Time files! Just a blink of an eye and another year has past. This year, Singapore hits 50.

To start the ball rolling, I've created a personalized logo for SG50 (joining in the SG50 fun). When I see the word Singapore, I would relate it with the following 3 things. A multiracial nation with citizens living together in harmony. The Merlion (Singapore's Mascot) and Gardens by the Bay (represented by the super trees).

2014("20要死") hasn't been a really good year. 3 fatal planes related incidents (Mysterious disappearances of MH370, MH17 shot down in Ukraine and air crash of Air Asia's QZ8501), brutal terrorist slaughters innocents and health cases like Ebola, bird flu etc. For those who are wondering what 要死 means. It literally means 'want die'. Pardon the pun! haha.

For me, things aren't good either! To be frank, I made pretty bad choices and am struggling to get back on track. I gets easily irritated and having pretty bad mood swings.

For the start of 2015, I would like to apologize to my parents "Sorry pa & ma! I wouldn't like to talk about things so, let me be." Leaving me alone would be the best thing to do.

I should work out a bucket list for 2015. (At least there's something to look forward to?) Happy 2015 to all, this year will be a better year!! (things can't get any worse than this right?) haha.
