Finally, tidied up my stuff in my room in preparation of the new year (2015). I'm more organized :)
I came across some home organizing videos by Alejandra. They were amazing! (and partly because she's cute. haha.) I decided to put what I've learnt to use. Please take a look at the before transformation post first.
I found a home to house my wallet, watches, portable charger etc. Thus, leaving my clipboard (with a stack of recycled papers) for jotting down notes and my "Minion" (iPad mini) on the table to accompany "Maggie" (macbook pro).
Filed my bills, letters and pay slips and re-organized my desk utilities.
I bought a utensils tray to store all my pencils, pens, markers, glue and rulers. They're perfect for this! At the sides, I had 2 plastic box organizers to hold other items like notepad, post sticks, earphone etc. Right at the very end, I sticked letters and ang baos (don't know why I have these oh well~) into the small gaps. The boxes and tray are sticked down by blue tacks so that they are kept in place.
I clear away some of the boxes and relocated my bags else where. These boxes can be recycled into gift boxes, so I kept them in case I needed them. You can flatten them if you like but you couldn't tell the shape and size of it at one glance.
I created space for a personal cabinet. This contains all my necessities when I leave the house; My wallet, card holder (containing my identification cards), keys, portable charger and tissue packs. I deliberately grouped it this way so that I just grab everything from the cabinet and I'm good to go!
The previously accessories cabinet turns into a storage for books! Brand new books are placed at the extreme left. The center contains used books (written pages are torn leaving the blank pages). At the right, more memo pads, notepads and post sticks can be found.
I grabbed this chance to get my own personal wardrobe. This cost $99 from IKEA and I fixed it up in 2hrs time. The top portion hangs all my formal wears and cardigan. I bought a few boxes to further segregate my casual clothings.
Quater fold my tees and placed them neatly into the boxes. This holds up to around 23-28 tees (depending on thickness). I sorted them according to the colours of the rainbow spectrum. Black, white, orange, yellow, blue.. all the way to indigo.
Same for the shorts, jeans and pants! The bags are relocated into the big box here.
Belts and watches are dumped into smaller boxes.
Accessories are placed into jewelry / medicine boxes. Same logic applies! By accessing my wardrobe, I will be able to get all the clothing, accessories needed. It's not fantastic but it works for me and I'm pretty proud of myself :)
Do watch the videos by Alejandra and have fun organizing!
