Sungai Lembing - Panorama Hill

I went on a solo trip to Sungai Lembing a few months back and visited the Panorama Hill.

I took a late afternoon nap, woke up and decided to scale the Panorama Hill. Armed with my slippers, a nearly filled 500ml bottle of water, my towel and Ocean, I made my way past the Chinese School to the foothold of Panorama Hill.

I took a last glimpse of the village before climbing up the first few flight of steep stairs. I felt my sweat dripping, knees and calf aching as I climb. The road gets tougher mid way with much higher rocks and no railings to maintain balance.

Along the way, this huge ant caught my attention. Keeping my feet away, I zoomed Ocean in to get a shot of it. At the same time, checking to see if there're other huge ants near me. I don't wish to get bitten by one of these gigantic ants. That would be nasty!

As I climbed higher, I got a much wider view of Sungai Lembing. The village seems to be surrounded by hills. Through the tress, I managed to find a spot and catch the glowing warm sun setting.

I bumped into a friendly villager and gotten information that I was half way there. I was already panting and clothes soaked with sweat. I took a look at the time. It was nearly half past 6. Determined to reach the top of the hill, I took the risk of getting caught in the dark with only my 30% charged phone as the light source. I gulped some water and increased my pace.

I found another lovely spot and took some shots. Looking at the photo, you could see that the light was almost out. I left a good half an hour more before it gets pitch dark! I did made it up to the summit only to find a shelter for resting and tress along the path. I strolled around to find a shot that would make me remember that I've conquered Panorama Hill.

And the picture would be the one above! It's not well taken but I'm surprised to find swallows(?) flying so high up and they seemed to congratulate on my successful climb. Of course, I've included framed in the distant hills to show I'm on top of the world hill :)

I made my way down quickly as it gets dark fast! Things get worse as my slipper gave way (Serve me right, climbing with slippers. What were I thinking :|). Somehow, I managed to slot it back and get it working. Thank god I made my way down safely! It's dark when I reached the foothill.

Enjoy folks! Sungai Lembing is a beautiful place. Do visit it :D
